Driving your car hire in Cyprus
Traffic drives on the left. This is one of the reasons that
car hire in Cyprus became so popular to British & Irish holiday
makers. According to the 2009 statistics, the 75% of the rental cars in the island have been rented out to
British and Irish travellers. Roads are well English singed and are of a good
quality especially the new major highways. A few roads in the villages can be
poor and it is easy for the unwary to become lost. Drivers should note that cars
can become hot if they are parked in the sun and where possible should be parked
in the shade. Car seat belts are compulsory for front seat passengers and
children under 12 can not travel in the front. Children between the ages of 5
and 10 have to have a child's seat belt.
